Orange Oblivion

Tangerine is officially the color of the year and I've totally embraced it. It's such a bright, fun, and happy color and just may be what you need to kick your spring style off right! The easiest way to wear this color is in accessories. The color is actually quite versatile and will instantly add pizzaz to any outfit. Here's my fav ways to embrace this color! P.S. Additional trend alert! Jelly is back!

Orange jelly flats: Tory Burch

Orange cut out bracelet: Gigi Chic

Orange color block pumps: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Fall Nails

Thought I would share two of my fav nail colors for fall. No, they aren't part of any of the new fall collections, but they're still right on trend!

OPI: Linkin Park After Dark & Essie: Sand Tropez

This extra deep purple shade is a nice alternate to black or berry and works great with lighter skin tones.

I love a nude shade and this one works perfect with my skin. Take your time and test out shades when looking for a nude that works for you. Keep in mind whether warm or cool tones suite you. I love to go to Ulta since you can sample there. (I went in to buy a shade from the Essie fall collection, but it just didn't work with my skin tone). GET WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!

P.S. You all know a fab top coat makes any mani look better and gives it staying power. This one from Essie is the BEST! I've tried many different ones from their line and others, and I swear this one makes my nails last for days!

Your Stand-bys

Everyone has their own basics or stand-bys. You know your little black dress that is perfect for every occassion (mine is short and strapless), your go to nail color that matches everything (Essie marshmallow for me)

or everyday lip balm (Burts bees champagne lip shimmer). These are the things that make you feel comfortable, at home, and can easily be dressed up or down.

Your home is also a place for basics. When trying to express yourself through your home decor first look into your closet and makeup bag for inspiration. What are you usually drawn to? For me it translates into things like a fav paint color that matches with everything like "sandy hook gray" from Benjamin Moore historical collection.

Another great basic is a nuetral slipcover for existing furniture that will act as a backdrop for your ever changing accessory choices. I also love a textured area rug that is simple, durable and will hide stains like this one from West Elm.

When you want a change simply move it to another room, cause it's guaranteed to match any decor. Once you establish staples for your home, stay with them because they will prove to be timeless basics for YOUR ever changing STYLE!
