NYFW Spring 2013: Part I "Glam"

New York Fashion Week is over and although I could not attend, I spent hours (too many to admit) obsessively watching videos and slide shows of everything that was going on. There were so many beautiful, fun, and bold looks for spring. The major trends seemed to be stripes and geometric patterns, black and white - together and separate, sheer details and peek-a-boo strips, hemlines falling at the knee or mid-calf, lots of bold mixing of prints, bralette and cropped tops, and bright colors especially blue, yellow, and orange. There were so many fabulous looks, but here is a peek at some of my favorite "Glam Looks". You know the ones that make you say "Wow" as you begin to daydream about an occasion to wear them! For many more looks from NYFW check out my board for Spring 2013 on Pinterest.

Miami Swim Style

Sorry it's a little delayed all, but I wanted to recap some of my fav looks from Miami Swim Week. The top trends were tribal and animal prints, black and white, geometrics, and old school" Havana" styles. I especially loved all the architectural and textural details designers were using as well incorporating cool cover ups. Hope you all are enjoying the summer and looking fab!

At frst glance you know this "Palm Tree" folding sun shower by Dometti is amazing, but then when you find out how customizeable it is and what it can do you'll be blow away! This amazing shower has "palm leaves" that can be adjusted to your liking with shower and misting systems, and can even be folded down when not in use. The "trunk" holds all the goodies with a complete sound system, remote control access, bluetooth, and led chromotherapy. Did I mention you can even adjust the settings from your smart phone?! The sunshower comes in a variety of finishes and is sure to keep you cool all summer long!

Summer Snack

Thought I would share a little recipe with you that is perfect for those hot summer days when you don't feel like cooking but want something delicious. It looks pretty and comes together in about 10 minutes! Pair it with a crisp glass of white and you've got "happy hour."  Enjoy!

Fruit & Cheese Crostini

1 whole wheat baguette sliced
1 Peach cut into thin slices
Strawberries thinly sliced
Blue Cheese thin sliced or crumbled
Meyer lemon olive oil (see below)
Raspberry Aged Balsamic (see below)
Fresh ground pepper

Simply brush the bread with olive oil and toast in the oven on 400 until golden. Top with blue cheese and fruit and drizzle with olive oil and vinegar. Sprinkle with pepper and your done!

I have also done this recipe with goat cheese instead of blue and it came out great, and feel free to mix up the fruit with whatever is in season!

Good olive oils and vinegars take this simple snack to the next level. I was gifted these delicious ones and have since become addicted! The flavors are subtle and bright and perfect for salad dressings, marinades, and dipping. To purchase these or some other delicious flavors from Fiore click HERE
